Top 5 Reasons Updates Are Not Saving

You've updated a page within your site and when you go "back to site" the changes have not been saved or simply aren't displaying as they should.  There are a few things that could cause this and we'll cover them in this article.

1.  The use of Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge can cause issues with our responsive site design.
We recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to eliminate compatibility issues.

2.  Password updates were not completed: On 11/01/2019  we released an update that requested all passwords to be changed.
We were notified that by clicking the browser's 'Back' button, users were able to access the site administration without changing the password. The site will only allow updates to be made by a user account with an updated password.

Please reach out to your Webmaster or support@gabbart.com for assistance in resetting your password.

3.   Browser caching issue: Depending on the internet browser you are using, you may need to empty your cache folder to see the most recent version of the site. Here is a link to an article on Clearing Cache Folders.

4.  Adding content that is too large: If your photo is too large it will cause your site to lag as it tries to upload and display the image. You will want to compress the image and upload the smaller file.

5.  Use of special characters in titles: Our developers have given us some examples of things that can potentially cause the content to stop functioning properly or completely

Special Characters in the Title of a page or page stack. The site tends to read this as code which causes interference with the actual code.

Examples:  Please AVOID using any of the following in a title:
("." !! # &  ; @ : '  <--- )
Page stacks:  @Lady Tiger's Schedule
                         #awesome!

                          # Updated State Policy & Board Documents @2020

Page titles:   Mrs. Smith's Home Room Fun!
                        Counselor's Corner :)
                        Librarian's Resources & links

Announcement titles:   Car rider pick up & drop off info
                                          02/02/2020 Bond Elections

**We understand how important it is for our schools to be grammatically correct, our developers have made some adjustments that will allow for the use of an apostrophe that should not interfere with the rest of the code.
